On 9 September 1970, Soerbakti founded CV Lorena. The name was taken from the name of his first child, Eka Sari Lorena Soerbakti. Although it had been established since 1970, it was not until 1973 that this bus company PO was officially operating. Lorena began its history by serving a short intercity and interprovincial AKAP route of Bogor – Jakarta via Cibinong with two Mercedes-Benz OF 1113 buses in its fleet. In its development, Lorena continues to increase the number of its fleets and travel routes. In 1975, Lorena opened the Jakarta – Bandung route via Puncak. The bus operator was then rebranded under the name PT Ryanta Mitra Karina, or commonly known as PO Karina, in the same year. This business unit focuses its services on intercity and interprovincial AKAP routes to Jakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Madura, and Denpasar. In 2002, CV Lorena was rebranded into PT Eka Sari Lorena Transport to increase the company’s professionalism. The effort to continuously improving its quality finally earned Lorena the ISO 90012000 certificate in 2003, meaning Lorena has successfully met international standards for quality management systems. This achievement made Lorena the first land transportation company to obtain the ISO 9001 2000 certificate. With a headquarter located on Jl. Hasyim Ashari Dalam No. 15 Gambir, Central Jakarta, this bus company has now reached more than 60 cities across Java, Bali, and Sumatra. Lorena also provides a range of bus services, from the executive, VIP, to business classes, to maximize its service. The executive bus serves only the East Java and Bali routes.
